What You'll Need to Know for a Career in Construction

While working in the construction industry can provide a multitude of long-term career opportunities, it is not for everyone. To be successful on any construction related job, especially in the industrial arena, requires skill, knowledge, certain physical attributes and the right mind-set.

To gain access onto almost any work site will require:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Government issued photo identification (i.e. driver's license, state-issued id, passport)
  • Social Security Card
  • Drug screen (urinalysis and/or hair test),
  • Alcohol test
  • Background screen going back at least 7 years
